DHAKA: The law enforcement agency confined Nayapaltan office and Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s residence and her Gulshan party office in the city.
On Wednesday, some senior leaders of the party among former BNP MP Sarder Sakhawat Hossain Bakul and BNP MP Shammi Akter were detained while they tried to meet Khaleda Zia.
BNP sources said leaders and activists are facing immense restrictions to meet with the party chief.
A large number of police personnel were seen in the area and they have confined Gulshan chairperson party office and her residence.
Assistant Police Commissioner of Gulshan zone Nur-e-Alam said additional law enforcers were deployed in the area for security reason.
He, however, claimed members of law enforcement agency are not putting any obstacles for leaders and activists to meet Khaleda Zia.
On the other hand, additional law enforcers were deployed around the central office of BNP in city’s Nayapaltan area.
