DHAKA: Opposition BNP national executive committee member Major (retd) M Hanif, as founder of ‘Hridoye Bangladesh’ was detained on Sunday.
The members of law enforcement agency held him from in front of National Press Club in the evening.
After the detention, he was sent to Shahbagh Police Station.
Earlier in the day, police held hundreds BNP leaders and activists, including Enam Ahmed Chowdury, lawyer Dr Arifa Jesmin and Sahana Chowdhury.
On December 24, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia called ‘March for Democracy’ for Sunday to meet their demand.
