Ashraf terms BNP’s prog drama

DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam termed ‘March for Democracy’ as failure saying no leaders and activists of the alliance joined the programme Sunday.

The spokesperson for the party came up with the assertion at a press conference in city’s Dhanmondi office.

He said, “She wanted to stage a drama and she has been successful to do so. Many people got entertained with her drama.”

Syed Ashraful told journalists: “Such drama might have entertained many people, but I did not enjoy it. She is the two-time prime minister. We want to see something more serious from her.”

Syed Ashraf also quoted the pre-scheduled programme of BNP as ‘Damn Quick’ which got pale in the absence of party men.

He also said the leaders and activists of BNP don’t have a heartily relationship with BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia that’s why they refused to join the programme.
