Nayapaltan,Khaleda’s home cordoned

DHAKA: Law enforcing agency personnel cordoned the residence of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and party’s Nayapaltan central office from early Monday.

Police set up iron barriers on the roads of Bijoynagar and Fakirerpul areas around party’s central office and deployed armored personnel carriers and riot cars and water canons to thwart untoward situation, reported banglanews correspondent.

Additional police forces have been deployed around BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan residence.

On Sunday evening, party’s vice chairman Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed declared sit-in programme at metropolitans-districts-upazilas-highways-railways-waterways till the government cancels January 5 elections. Besides, March for Democracy will be staged at Nayapaltan which will be started at around 10:00am Monday.

During the time, Major (retd) Hafiz also strongly condemned attack of Awami League activists in the National Press Club and at lawyers in the Supreme Court.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia declared to join the ‘March for Democracy’, at any cost, in front of the Naya Paltan office on Monday while the government determined to obstruct the rally.
