DHAKA: The Election Commission will start updating voter list from Thursday.  Enumerators will start making door-to-door visits the same day. 

Election Commission’s public relation department informed media on Wednesday noon.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed will inaugurate the voter list updating program at Shivalaya Upazila of Manikganj district at 10:00am Thursday.

Election commissioners Shah Newaz and Abdul Mobarak, among others, will be present at the program.

The first phase of collecting information, which will begin from May 15, will continue till May 24 across the country while the second phase from June 15 to June 24 and the third phase from September 1 to September 10.

Registration of voter list will also be held in three phases. The first phase will begin from May 26 to July 15 while the second phase from July 18 to September 15 and the third phase from September 18 to November 15.

Meanwhile, the commission held a meeting with Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) on taking cooperation from them in updating the voter list.
