RANGPUR: Three people were killed and injured 15 others in a road accident on Kurigram reginal highway in Kawnia upazila of the district on Wednesday morning. 

Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. 

Witnesses said a Kurigram-bound passenger bus of Shyamoli Paribahan collided head-on with a truck in the area, leaving two killed on the spot and injured others.

Later, another succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at hospital.

Officer-in-charge Abdul Laif of Kawnia thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The condition of eight others is critical, said hospital sources.
