KHULNA: Local unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami announced a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Terokhada upazila of the district for Thursday.

The announcement was made through a press release signed by Khulna Dokkhin Zila Jamaat assistant secretary Moulana Moinul Islam on Tuesday night.

Jamaat is going to observe the hartal protesting the arrest of its upazlia unit ameer Moulana Kabirul Islam and demanding immediate release of the leader. 

The party will also hold a protest rally at the upazila on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, police arrested Kabirul from Atalia Madrasa during dawn and recovered a pistol, five bombs and three rounds of bullet there.

Terokhada Thana Officer-In-Charge Harendranath Sarkar told banglanews, “Kabirul was accused in four cases.”
