Khaleda reiterates to disband RAB

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia has reiterated that it is high time to disband the elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for its misconduct.

The BNP chief came up with the plea while addressing a view exchange meeting at Khaleda’s Gulshan political office in city on Thursday evening.

She said, “RAB was not politicized during the regime of BNP. But the incumbent government is using the elite force to eliminate political opponents.”

The former prime minister of the country also said the personnel of the force became uncontrolled due to the use of illegal activities.

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Vice Chairman Sadek Hossain Khoka, BNP chairperson's advisor Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Joint Secretary General Salauddin Ahmed and Aman Ullah Aman were among others present at the program.
