DHAKA : Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed on Thursday said Army would not be deployed in Barisal-5 by-polls.

The CEC made the disclosure while talking to journalists after a meting on law-and-order situation in Barisal-5 by-poll area.

He told the reporters that Police, BGB, RAB, APBN and Ansar Battalion would perform their duty as the Mobile and Striking Force like the previous by-polls to keep law-and-order situation under control.

The election will be held on June 12.

The Election Commission has imposed restriction on the movement of all sorts of vehicles from June 11 midnight to June 12 midnight.

Restriction on riding motorbike will be from June 10 to June 14.

A total of 342,159 voters will cast their votes at 159 centers.
