DHAKA: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Advocate Anisul Haque on Thursday categorically said it not possible to try Jamaat in line with the law if International Crimes Tribunal.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker made the assertion while talking to journalists at Supreme Court in the night.

On March 27, the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) submitted the final probe report seeking ban of Jamaat-e-Islami for their involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.

Investigation officer of the case Motiur Rahman handed over the report to the prosecution    

The 337-page final report prepared in the light of International Crimes (Tribunals) of 1973, investigators sought ban of Jamaat and all its front organizations in Bangladesh.

Though two months have already passed after submission of the probe report, prosecution can not place the allegation before the court and amid this situation the minister passed the comment.
