DHAKA: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on Saturday labeled BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman as a ‘stupid boy’.

The minister came up with the remarks while addressing a conference of Dhaka bar unit Awami Ainjibi Parishad in the city.

Anisul said, “Tarique might have been born abroad; for this reason, he always talks staying abroad, (he) dares not to come home, he is a stupid boy. He doesn’t even know how to respect his father, so how he will respect the other.”

The minister also expressed doubt about Tarique’s educational qualification. “Tarique had been expelled for his stupidity during his study at St Joseph Higher Secondary School (Dhaka); at present, Allah knows his educational qualification only,” he said.

He added: “Therefore, he is making indecent comments staying abroad.”

President of the organization Advocate Hamayet Hossain in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Food Minister Kamrul Islam.
