Fakhrul calls for democratic govt

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called for establishing a democratic government ousting the failure government in controlling the country.

The BNP leader also called for a free and fair election with the participation of all parties.

He said on Monday while addressing a discussion on the occasion of 33rd death anniversary of Ziaur Rahman organized by Jatiyatabadi Shramik Dal at National Press Club in city.

He commented that the incumbent government has no control anywhere on the country. There is no alternative of movement to oust the incumbent government with the aim to save the country, people as well as its resources.

He mentioned that BNP-founder late president Ziaur Rahman rewarded press freedom first to the country. He also established multi-party democracy and made revolution in agriculture sector by digging canals.

Among others, BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan and BNP labor affairs secretary Zafrul Hasan spoke at the program, chaired by Jatiyatabadi Shramik Dal president Anwar Hossain.
