Khaleda mourns Mahbubul Alam’s death

DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia expressed her profound shock at the death of former advisor of care taker government and former editor of 'The Independent', Mahbubul Alam.

In her condolence message, Khaleda said the country has lost an experienced and veteran journalist through this death.

BNP chairperson’s press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The BNP chief conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members at the same time.

“I seek salvation of the departed soul and pray to the Almighty Allah so that He blesses him with heaven (eternal peace),” said Khaleda.

Mahbubul Alam passed away at a city hospital on Friday morning at the age of 78.

Former advisor Mahububl Alam was born in Munshiganj on February 5 in 1936. He started his career as a journalist in 1953. He was also the Managing Director & chief editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
