PM condoles death of Mahbuhul Alam

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Friday expressed condolence for the death of former editor of 'The Independent', also former editor of ‘The Independent’ Mahbubul Alam.

In her condolence message, the premier conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

She said that Bangladeshi News and Media industry will re-call Mahbubul Alam with deep respect, for his unforgettable contribution.

Earlier, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia also expressed her profound shock at the death of this former advisor of care taker government.

Mahbubul Alam passed away at a city hospital on Friday morning at the age of 78.

Former advisor Mahububl Alam was born in Munshiganj on February 5 in 1936. He started his career as a journalist in 1953. He was also the Managing Director & chief editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
