‘AL to face fiasco if CG restored’

BOGRA: Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia categorically said that Awami League would face a fiasco in next election if they restore caretaker government system.

She came up with the observation before leaving Bogra Circuit House for Rangpur at around 12:00 Sunday.

Khaleda Zia alleged: “The government scrapped the caretaker government system with an intention to cling to power forever.”

Reiterating the demand to reinstate CG system, she added, “90 percent people are in favour of holding the next general election under the caretaker government system.”

As part of its movement strategy, the BNP-led 18-party alliance is going to arrange the two rallies in two divisional cities to boost public support in party’s demand for holding the next general election under a non-partisan caretaker government.

Thousands of leader-activists of 18-party alliance gathered on the highway to welcome her cordially.

Earlier on Saturday Khaleda left Dhaka for Bogra on Statuary afternoon on a scheduled three-day tour in country’s northern parts.

During the visit, she will address two mass rallies in Rangpur and Rajshahi on Sunday and Monday respectively.
