RANGPUR: Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman HM Ershad on Sunday his party would take part in the next election independently and assume power.
“The people of the country want changes. They also want to get rid from the misrules of the ruling Awami League and opposition BNP,” he said.
The former President of the country came up with the assertion while a wayside rally after inauguration of Union Bank at Shathibari Union in Mithapukur upazila of the district.
He also urged his audience to elect him in the upcoming national polls and once again.
Ershad said, “It is my last election and JP will take part in the polls independently as per people’s demand.”
The JP Chief said his party would not compromise about 22 seats of the greater Rangpur.
