SATKHIRA: A man was killed and 10 others were injured in a clash between supporters of an Awami League leader and a BNP leader over establishing supremacy at Sriula under Ashashuni Upazila of the district on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Hakim Sardar, 55, inhabitant of Sriula village.
Sriula Union Parisad Chairman Abu Hena Shakil said that supporters of former chairman Noor Mohammad, also Awami league leader, and BNP leader Shahidul Islam Bhutto locked into clash at the premises of district court on Wednesday.
Later, police held Noor Mohammad with firearms.
Following the incident, supporters of the both leaders locked into clash at around 10:00am Thursday, leaving Abdul Hakim dead on the spot and 10 others injured.
Confirming the matter Additional police super Joydev Chowdhury told banglanews, “Police held one person from the spot.”
