DHAKA: The Supreme Court rejected the petition filed by Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Amir Delawar Hossain Sayedee seeking order to keep two of its justices out of the proceedings of his appeal against the death penalty given by International Crimes Tribunal.
The three-member SC bench led by Chief Justice Md Mozzamamel Hossain passed the order on Thursday.
The others judges are Justice Abdul Wahab Mia, Justice Hasan Foyez Siddique.
As Sayedee filed no confidence petition against the rest two Judges, they didn’t take part in the appeal hearing.
They are Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha and Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury.
Earlier on Tuesday, the lawyer of Saydee, Shishir M Munir filed the no confidence petition two justice of appellate division bench of the Supreme Court in the hearing on appeal against death penalty that given to him by ICT for his crimes against humanity during liberation war
Moreover, the defense alleged that SK Sinha has a liaison with former chairman of Tribunal-1 Nizamul Haque Nasim.
Saydee’s lawyer Shishir M Munir confirmed the matter to banglanews.
