DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home Monday from New York after attending the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
An Emirates flight carrying the premier and members of her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 5:30pm.
Senior leaders and lawmakers of ruling Awami League and diplomats of different countries jovially received the Prime Minister at the airport.
Later, Sheikh Hasina was accorded a civic reception by Awami League and different professional bodies at the VVIP Lounge of the airport on her receiving the prestigious South-South Award.
On September 23, the premier, also ruling Awami League president left Dhaka on an eight-day official visit to attend the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 27.
On the sidelines of the UNGA, she attended a number of high-level events and bilateral talks, including her Indian Counterpart Manmohan Singh.
