DHAKA: Bangladeshi golf player Mohammad Siddikur has overcome a late-round collapse to win the Indian Open by one-stroke, with Australia`s Unho Park doing well to finish eighth.
Siddikur looked to be cruising to a comfortable victory at the Delhi Golf Club on Sunday as he had a four-shot lead with four holes remaining, reports sportal.com.
But the Bangladeshi had a horror triple bogey at 15, followed by another bogey at 16 to fall back into a tie for the lead with two holes to play.
Luckily for the 28-year-old he managed to regroup and birdie the par-three 17th to finish at 14-under the card to hold one for victory ahead of Indian pair Anirban Lahiri (70) and SSP Chowrasia (72).
Park, who started the day seven shots behind Siddikur, couldn`t get going in his final round mixing two birdies with a bogey to finish at 11-under and in outright eighth.
