DHAKA: Australia has won the opening Ashes test by 381 runs in Brisbane, dismissing England for 179 late on day four.
Rain delays in the final session threatened to send the test into a final day, but the hosts have come back onto the field twice to take a step towards winning back the coveted vase, reports radiosport.
Earlier in the day, England suffered its second mid-innings collapse in the test, losing four for 31 to crush their already slim chances of chasing down 561.
Mitchell Johnson has taken five second innings wickets, for match figures of nine for 103.
