DHAKA: The seven-match Youth One-Day International cricket series between West Indies Under-19 and Bangladesh Under-19 will begin Friday night in Chittagong.

The Caribbean side will be seeking revenge after it lost 4-3 to Bangladesh in a similar seven-match series played in Guyana in October.

Spin bowling all-rounder Ramaal Lewis of Jamaica will captain the squad, with Trinidadian Jeremy Solozano as vice-captain.

There are four other Jamaicans in the 15-member squad.

They are Fabian Allen, Tristan Coleman, Brandon King and Marquino Mindley.

The West Indies Under-19 team started the tour with a big victory over the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s Invitational Eleven on Wednesday.

The regional side scored 263 for five off its 50 overs and then bowled out the home side for 149 off 38.2 overs to win by 114 runs.

West Indies and Bangladesh are using the series as preparation for the International Cricket Council Under-19 World Cup to be played in United Arab Emirates in February, 2014.
