DHAKA: Brazilian winger, Neymar has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2014 World Cup after suffering a blow to the back that fractured his vertebrae and upon learning of the devastating injury, the 22-year-old’s Barcelona teammate Leo Messi was the first to offer encouragement and support.
In a message posted on his official facebook account, Messi put a picture of the two and wished the Brazilian a speedy recovery.
“Get well soon my friend, Neymar.”
Neymar is expected to be out for the next four to six weeks, but Brazil’s lead physician has stressed that the goal-scorer will not need surgery and will need to rest the injury, which will force him to miss all of the pre-season with Barcelona under new manager, Luis Enrique, reports insidespanishfootball.com.
A Neymar-less Brazil will take on Germany on Tuesday in the 2014 World Cup semi-finals.
