DHAKA: Brazilian football star Neymar on Thursday revealed he will support Brazil's biggest rivals Argentina in Sunday's World Cup final against Germany.
Neymar who is undergoing treatment after Zuniga's raised-knee challenge during a rough quarter-final when Brazil beat Colombia 2-1 left Neymar with a broken vertebra and out of the hosts' humiliating 7-1 semi-final defeat to German.
At an emotional press conference at Brazil's base camp just outside Rio de Janeiro, Neymar broke down in tears as he relived the challenge which broke a vertebrae in his back and left him fearing he would be paralyse.
He said he wanted Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano to win football's biggest prize, even if many of his compatriots will be surprised at his open support for their neighbours.
"I always said I wanted Argentina to get to the final because Brazil would be there but it never worked out like that," he said.
"I still want them there because my two team mates are there, Messi and Mascherano, and I hope they win."
"Messi's won almost everything and I think he deserves to be champion and I am cheering for him to be champion."
