A very talented of first Generation Bangladesh Cricketer Syed Khawaja Rehan Hasan, a fellow national cricketer, once and the captain of National Sporting Club is seriously ill.
Nazmun Noor Robin posted this in his Facebook. We who were blessed with the opportunity of witnessing few wonderfully aggressive Innings of Rehan are also aware of his true cricketing spirits. For his manners and cricket ethics he was admired and adored in the cricket community.
An ancient club of Old Dhaka National sporting was a frequent giant killer of big teams. Rehan was a stylish all -rounder and a particularly aggressive batsman. On his day, he would single handedly destroy many potent bowling attack.
The news was conveyed to Robin by another contemporary cricketer Shabbir (who lives in NY). Rehan, now a full time Muazzin of the Jamaica Masjid in NY for more than twenty years is not keeping well and has been performing his Salah sitting down. We appeal to cricket community of Bangladesh to please pray for him.
Robin so eloquently wrote,” He is the stuff that good men were made of--or in other words.” Robin also quoted of another cricketer friend Dalim Shahidullah, "stuff that true Cricketers were made of."
Omar Khaled Rumi Bhai also sent his book to Rehan. Robin requested NRBs living in NY to visit Rehan if possible as he is always so pleased to see his fellow cricketers. Rehan’s brother, Syed Khwaja Masud Hasan is in a key position of the legal system in the state of NY.
Cricket community of Bangladesh those who had opportunity of witnessing several wonderful innings of Rehan and those who knew him personally will definitely agree what a wonderful person he is. Always smiling, always greeting you, polite and humble. A true cricketer.
