DHAKA: Brazil envoy to Dhaka Wanja Campos Nobrega on Sunday said his country will provide all-out assistance in developing the football of Bangladesh.
The ambassador made the disclosure while reading out a paper tilted ‘Brazilian Foreign Policy and Brazil-Bangladesh Relation’ at a program organized by Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) in the city.
Wanja said Brazil wants to help Bangladesh for developing its football. In this regard, Bangladeshi players would be given training in Brazil and the Brazilian players may also come to Bangladesh to inspire them, she said.
Mentioning Bangladesh as an example of secular country, the ambassador also expressed her surprise and joy over hoisting the Brazil’s flag during the World Cup.
About the closure of Brazil’s embassy in Dhaka once, she said, due to economic reason, the embassy has been closed but the relation with Bangladesh has never been hampered.
Ambassador Munshi Faiz Ahmed presided over the function. Chairman of BIISS Board of Governors, BIISS Director General Major General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed also spoke.
