DHAKA: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan-owned Kolkata Knight Riders says the club is ‘so proud of’ Bangladeshi all-rounder ‘Shakib Al Hasan’ for his joining in the ‘Cricket Legends’.
The cricket franchise, in its Facebook Official Page on Saturday, said, “We (KKR) are so proud of #Knight Shakib Al Hasan who is one of only three players to have scored a century and taken 10 wickets in one Test match! (sic)”
The two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champion club also praised Shakib for his reclaiming the top position in Test all-rounder list.
“He (Shakib) achieved this feat in the #BANvZIM Khulna Test played last week. Hats off to the world's No.1 Test All-rounder! (sic),” said KKR, which is also co-owned by another Bollywood celebrity Juhi Chawla.
Earlier on Friday, Shakib took himself into the cricket history becoming the third man to hit a hundred and take 10 wickets in the same match and reclaimed the top Test all-rounder spot again.
With this achievement, he made himself equal to England all-rounder Ian Botham and Pakistan’s Imran Khan in completing a hundred and a haul of 10 wickets in the same test.
Shakib regained the top spot in Test rankings, which the 27-year-old had lost to Ravichandran Ashwin of India in November, 2013.
He is at 419 points while Ashwin at 357 points, being followed by VD Philander of South Africa with 348 points.
Shakib propelled Bangladesh to beat Zimbabwe by 162 runs in the second Test of the 3 match-series.
Zimbabwe, who lost the first Test in Dhaka by three wickets, folded for 151 in their second innings in Khulna as they chased 314 for victory.
