DHAKA: Al-Amin Hossain, the Bangladesh quick bowler, has been cleared to continue bowling in international cricket by the ICC after an independent test in Chennai found his action to be legal.
Al-Amin had been reported for a suspect action during the first Test against West Indies in St Vincent in September.
A comprehensive analysis of his action, conducted at the newly accredited Sri Ramachandra University on October 20, revealed that the amount of elbow extension for all his deliveries was within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC regulations.
Al-Amin was the second Bangladesh bowler to be reported for a suspect action during the tour, after team-mate, offspinner Sohag Gazi, who was later suspended in October. Al-Amin played two Tests in the West Indies and was also in the playing eleven for the first Test against Zimbabwe last month.
