DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan Papon on Tuesday said the ban on Shakib Al Hasan on his playing overseas cricket league would be lifted on appeal.
“The ban—valid till 31, 2015--will be lifted if the BCB is happy with the behavior of Shakib Al Hasan,” he said.
The BCB chief was talking to journalists reporters after he returns home from an ICC meeting.
He also said, “The cricket board is happy with the behavior of Shakib and the ban will be lifted if he appeals.”
On July 7 this year, the ace Bangladeshi cricketer was banned from cricket for six months for disciplinary issues.
The embargo on him for participating in foreign cricket leagues was until December 31 next year.
Shakib returned to cricket after September 15 and participated in the home series against Zimbabwe following the decision of the cricket board to commute his ban on August 26.
In the home series against Zimbabwe, Shakib made history by becoming the third man, apart from Imran Khan and Ian Botham, to have scored a century and claim 10 wickets in a Test match.
