DHAKA: An opening 121-run partnership propelled Bangladesh to set a 298-run target for Zimbabwe in the third One Day International (ODI) of five-match Bashundhara Cement ODI series in the city on Wednesday afternoon .
Bangladesh scored 297 runs losing six wickets in the match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur of the city.
Earlier in the day, Zimbabwe won the toss and send Bangladesh to bat first.
Openers Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque built a solid ground scoring 40 runs off 63 balls and 95 off 120 balls respectively.
Anamul was caught in the ‘nervous 90’ by SW Masakadza. Kamungozi got the wickets.
Like openers, the middle order batsmen continued to contribute to the scoreboard.
Ace-all rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored 40, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah earned 33 runs each while Sabbir Rahman did 22.
Zimbabwe’s T Panyangara picked up one wicket while and N Madziva, T Kamungozi and H Masakadza took one each.
