DHAKA: Bangladesh Wednesday won the 5-match Bashundhara Cement ODI Series with the third consecutive victory over Zimbabwe in Dhaka.
The host beat the visitors by 124 runs in the third One Day International (ODI) at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur of the city.
In response to the Bangladesh-set 298-run target, the visitors lost all wickets to score 173 runs.
E Chigumbura scored the highest 53 while BRM Taylor took 28 runs. The host also contributed 20 runs extra, which was the third biggest score of the visitors.
Arafat Sunny picked up three wickets while Mashrafe Mortaza and Rubel Hossain bagged two wickets each.
Earlier in the day, Zimbabwe won the toss and send Bangladesh to bat first in the day/night match.
Openers Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque built a solid ground scoring 40 runs off 63 balls and 95 off 120 balls respectively.
Anamul was caught in the ‘nervous 90’ by SW Masakadza. Kamungozi got the wickets.
Like openers, the middle order batsmen continued to contribute to the scoreboard.
Ace-all rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored 40, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah earned 33 runs each while Sabbir Rahman did 22.
Zimbabwe’s T Panyangara picked up one wicket while and N Madziva, T Kamungozi and H Masakadza took one each.
Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 87 runs in the first ODI and by 68 runs in the second ODI at Chittagong on November 21 and November 23 respectively.
