DHAKA: Number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan foresaw the ICC World Cup 2015 will be a tough journey for Bangladesh.
He also emphasized on early arrival in New Zeeland and Australia prior to the tournament for the tigers’ well adjustment with the conditions of Australia and New Zealand which are hostile for the teams from the subcontinent.
Shakib was talking to the journalists at a cheque giving program for street children at city’s Jumuna Future Park on Friday.
He said: “How we will perform in the World Cup, in fact, depends on how we are being prepared. But, performing well in those countries’ condition will be challenging.”
Shakib is now in a good mood as the Bangladesh Cricket Board lifted ban to play overseas league. But it is still uncertain whether he would play the Big Bash in Australia.
Explain the reasons, he said: “Due to the ban, contact with the previous team had been canceled. Talks are going on (with them). Let’s see. If it becomes fruitful that will be good. If it does not, that will not be too bad. When it will be finalized then it can be said.
“It’s a matter of process; my managers are looking into it. When they will inform me I can tell then. It may take one or two days maybe a week.”
