DHAKA: Lutfar Rahman Badal, the owner of Premier Division Cricket League club Legends of Rupganj, has been banned from all sorts of cricket activities taken by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
BCB disciplinary committee, in a meeting held on Tuesday night, took the decision for Badal’s ‘derogatory’ comments against the BCB president and its directors.
However, the decision came minutes after Badal was temporarily banned from Premier Division Cricket League by the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolitan (CCDM).
Moreover, the Rupganj club’s joint secretary Tariqul Islam Titu has been handed a five-year ban and another official Sabbir Ahmed Rubel has been suspended for three years.
The two were accused of threatening match officials.
During the declaration, CCDM chairman AZM Nasir Uddin said that it is a prestige issue, though, the Legends of Rupganj owner Lutfar Rahman Badal, earlier in the day, said sorry for his comments.
Nevertheless, the decision came as a penalty of making offensive remarks against Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hasan Papon and its directors.
