DHAKA: The High Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to Bangladesh national team cricketer Rubel Hossain for four-week in a case filed by actress Naznin Akter Happy under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

An HC bench comprising Justice Syed AB Mahmudul Huq and Justice Mohammad Akram Hossain Chowdhury passed the order after hearing on Monday afternoon.

Lawyer SM Rezaul Karim filed the bail petition and also moved for cricketer Rubel.

Earlier on December 13, Naznin Akter Happy filed a rape case with Mirpur Thana.

Officer-in-Charge of the thana Salahuddin said the actress filed the case accusing Rubel for violating her in the promise of marriage.
