DHAKA: A Dhaka Court on Wednesday granted cricketer Rubel Hossain to play abroad exempting him from physical appearance before the court in case filed by actress Naznin Aktar Happy.
Therefore, Rubel has no legal bar to play for World Cup to be begun in Australia and New Zealand on February 14.
Metropolitan Magistrate Rashed Talukder passed the order around 1:30pm after hearing a plea filed by Rubel at the court.
Earlier in the morning, defense lawyer Barrister Moniruzzaman Asad filled a petition seeking exemption from appearing before the court and leave for playing abroad.
Film actress Happy filed the case with Mirpur Thana against Rubel accusing of raping her On December 13, 2014.
Later, Rubel took four weeks anticipatory bail from High Court on December 15, 2014.
On January 8, a court sent Rubel to jail on January, rejecting his bail plea in the case after he surrendered before the court.
Rubel is on bail now since a court granted bail to him on Sunday.
Relatives said that he has joined Bangladesh team’s world cup preparatory camp in Mirpur National Cricket Stadium from Monday.
