DHAKA: Nasir Chowdhury netted the ball from a corner at the 38th minute of the game, leading Bangladesh by 1-0 goal against Thailand in the second semi final match of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup on Friday evening.
The both sides are engaged in battle now at Bangabandhu National Stadium with an aim to reach the final of the tournament. The match kicked off at 5:00pm.
Both sides have faced each other for 14 times so far. Of which, Thailand won 9 matches while Bangladesh gained victory only two times.
They last met on 2012 in Bangkok where the-then host Thailand defeated Bangladesh by 5-0.
Earlier, Malaysia confirmed the final of the tournament by narrowly beating its neighboring Singapore by 1-0 goal at the Sylhet District Stadium on Thursday.
