World Crickets mega event ICC World Cup 2015 will be ceremoniously launched tomorrow 12 February 2014 with two spectacular events in Australia and New Zealand. Sports capital of Australia Melbourne is already gripped with cricket fever being the host of what promising to be a grand gala opening ceremony of cricket’s marquee event. Co-host New Zealand would stage their own opener on the same evening in Christchurch.
Melbourne celebration will be held at Sidney Myer Bowl in presence of current world cup players, cricket legends and musical performances, spectacular fireworks and other events kept wrapped up in mystery.
Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events John Eren Melbourne will witness the opening ceremony , one of the first matches of the tournaments between traditional rivals England and Australia at MCG and the final between who and who at the same iconic MCG on 29th March .“We are delighted that Melburnians and visitors from all over the world will have a chance to attend this once-in-a-generation event at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl,” Mr Eren said.

Christchurch's opening event will feature some of New Zealand’s best known performers, cricket legends including Sir Richard Hadlee and Stephen Fleming. It is only fitting that world cup will also launch from Christchurch the lovely city almost grounded by earthquake a few years back. Opening ceremony will have a special segment to recognize the rebuilding of the city following the disastrous earthquakes.
The matches will start incidentally on the Valentines Day simultaneously at Christchurch and Melbourne. Black Caps will play against Lankan Lions. Australia will lock horns with traditional rival England. All eyes will be glued to Television screen from all over the world for the mega event participated by 14 nations – 10 test playing full member countries including Bangladesh and four top qualifiers from the ICC Associate member countries. Six of the fourteen are from Asia including Afghanistan and UAE. It will be a global event and the winner will be acclaimed as World Champion at MCG on 29th March 2015.
