DHAKA: Ireland are facing Bangladesh bowlers, chasing a target of 190 runs to win in the last warm-up match before the ICC World Cup 2015 at Blacktown Olympic Park Oval in Sydney on Thursday.
Bangladesh have scored 189 runs in 48.2 overs with losing all the wickets. While the Irish scored 65 runs for three in 17 overs.
Al-Amin Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan and Nasir Hossain bagged one wicket each.
Ireland captain William Porterfield won the toss and opted to bowl.
In Bangladesh innings, Irelands’ John Mooney and Max Sorensen opened the bowling and took an early wicket each to leave Bangladesh 30-2 after the first ten overs.
Soumya Sarkar then started in a very attacking role and helped Bangladesh reach 71-2 after the first drinks break.
After drinks, the spinners took charge for Ireland, with George Dockrell and Paul Stirling slowing the scoring, before Andy McBrine got the wicket of Anamul with his first ball, Sorensen picked up a second wicket and Soumya was run out by Dockrell to leave Bangladesh on 111-5 from 29 overs.
A good start to the batting powerplay for Bangladesh boosted the score, but a wicket each for Dockrell and Kevin O’Brien left the score at 158-7 with ten overs remaining.
Both Ireland and Bangladesh lost their previous games - to Scotland and Pakistan respectively - and were looking to gain some momentum before the tournament proper.
While teams can use their entire squads during warm-up games, Ireland chose to rest Stuart Thompson, Alex Cusack and Peter Chase.
