India beat Pakistan by 76-run

Dhaka: India beat Pakistan by 76 runs in the high voltage match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 on Sunday.

Pakistan lost all wickets to score 224 runs while chasing India-set 301-run target at the Adelaide Oval stadium in Adelaide.

Earlier in the day, India captain Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first.

India lost seven wickets to score 300 runs in stipulated 50-over.

S Dhawan scored 73 runs off 76 balls with seven boundaries and a six. He was victim of run out by Misbah-ul-Haq. Till then, S Dhawan built a 129-run strong partnership with and V Kohli.

V Kohli scored 107 runs off 126 balls with eight boundaries before he was sent back by Sohail Khan.

After S Dhawan, SK Raina assisted V Kohli on another end. Sohail Khan made him stop at 74.

India Captain MS Dhoni added 18 runs to the scoreboard while opener RG Sharma contributed 15 runs. Both became victims of Sohail Khan.

In Pakistan’s side, Sohail Khan was more successful, picking up five wickets. Wahab Riaz bagged a wicket while another wicket was run out by Misbah-ul-Haq.

The rivalry between India and Pakistan is the biggest in cricket and tickets for the match between the two Asian neighbors sold out in 20 minutes.

More than a billon television audience is expectedly watching the Pool B match - the biggest viewer in the history of the sport.

India, champions in 1983 and 2011, have won all five of their previous World Cup meetings with Pakistan.
