DHAKA: Although Bangladeshi bowlers started hunting Kiwi wickets in the early overs of the second day of the first Test, New Zealand managed to score 404 runs losing nine wickets in 138 over on Thursday morning.
Rubel Hossain and Abdur Razzak bagged one wicket each at the beginning. Corey J Anderson and BP Martin went back to pavilion scoring 1 run each.
Later, Shakib and Sohag got the wickets of Doug Bracewell and IS Sodhi who scored 29 and 1 run respectively.
BJ Watling and TA Boult were on the crease with 68 and 22 runs respectively.
On Wednesday, losing five first order wickets, New Zealand scored 280 runs in 89.5 over on the first day.
Before returning to the pavilion, KS Williamson, PG Fulton, HD Rutherford, LRPL Taylor and BB McCullum scored 114, 73, 34, 28 and 21 runs respectively.
Abdur Razzak bagged two wickets while Shakib, Sohag Gazi and Nasir got one wicket each.
