DHAKA: Bangladesh managed to crawl to 103 for 2 at stumps on day-2 of the first Test match against New Zealand at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong Thursday.
The host scored 75 after the end of over-27 in response to the visitors’ 469 in the first innings.
Bangladesh will resume their innings on Friday with Mominul Haque’s 77 and Marshall Ayub’s 21.
Tamim Iqbal was dismissed for a first-ball duck. He was caught by Williamson off Boult. Anamul Haque scored only 3 before returning to the pavilion. Bracewell took the wicket.
Earlier the visitors made the responsible score loosing all wickets in 157.1 over.
Although Bangladeshi bowlers started hunting Kiwi wickets in the early on the second day, the last wickets of BJ Watling and Trent Boult helped reach the score with 103 and 52 runs respectively.
Before returning to the pavilion, KS Williamson, PG Fulton, HD Rutherford, LRPL Taylor and BB McCullum scored 114, 73, 34, 28 and 21 runs respectively.
Abdur Razzak bagged three wickets while Shakib and Sohag Gazi got two weeks each and Nasir got one wicket.
New Zealand scored 280 runs for five in 89.5 over on the first day Wednesday.
