DHAKA: Morning shows the day. Although three top orders batsmen returned to pavilion too early, Bangladesh is progressing steadily in the first innings of second Test against New Zealand Monday.

Till filling the report, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan were on the crease with 68 and 0 run while the total score was 166 for three in 42.3-over at at Mirpur Shere Bangla National Stadium in the capital.

Mominul Haque, Marshal Ayub and Anamul Haque returned to the pavilion scoring 47, 41 and 7 runs respectively. Anderson, Wagner and Boult got one wicket each.

In the meantime, Bangladesh were forced to make one change, due to Robiul Islam`s injury. Seamer Al-Amin Hossain made his debut in Robiul`s place, becoming the country`s 70th Test player.

New Zealand had included the left-arm fast bowler Neil Wagner in place of the left-arm spinner Bruce Martin.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first in the first innings of Second Test.

Earlier, the first Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand ended in a draw in Chittagong.

Bangladesh scored 173 for 3 in 48.2 over in their second innings at at Jahur Ahmed Stadium in Chittagong.

Bangladesh, with eight defeats in their past 12 matches, are rooted at rock bottom in the international rankings below Zimbabwe, with New Zealand just one place above them in eighth place.
