Police recovered bodies of a man and his son after two days of missing while they went Naf River of Teknaf Upazila in Cox’s Bazar for fishing.
Their floating bodies were recovered from the Damdamiya Carey ship jetty area of Naf River in Hnila Union of Teknaf Upazila on Wednesday (July 4).
Inspector Tapan Kumar Biswas, in-charge of Teknaf Station of Naval Police, confirmed the matter.
The deceased are - Noor Ullah, 37, son of late Salamat Ullah and Ruhul Amin, 13, son of Nur Ullah of Block B-7 of Jadimura 27 Rohingya camp of Teknaf Upazila.
Quoting locals Inspector Tapan Kumar said, like regular days Noor and is son went for fishing on Monday. At one stage, son Ruhul Amin was swept away by the current. While trying to rescue his son, the father also went missing.
Meanwhile, as the father and son did not return home even after evening, the relatives relatives informed the matter to naval police after failed to search, he said.
Later, on Wednesday afternoon, locals informed the naval police regarding two bodies floating at Damdamia Carey boat wharf in the river.
Later, the police recovered the bodies of father and son with the help of locals, the officer added.
