Quota movement coordinators, expecting the government's final response, said today (July 7) that they would continue the demonstration until 9 pm.
The students took positions at various intersections of the capital around 3 pm on Sunday (July 7).
Sarjis Alam, a coordinator of the movement, told Banglanews, “We have a plan to block the road till 8-9 pm. Students will continue to protest against discrimination.”
Coordinator Rifat Rashid said, “We are not thinking of any further program. We want to go back with the final results today. The blockade will continue till night.”
Earlier, Dhaka traffic saw disruptions as students of Dhaka College blocked the Science Laboratory intersection in New Market area to protest the reinstatement of the quota system in government jobs.
