Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) authorities said that mobile internet services may be restored by early next week.
BTRC Chairman Md Mohiuddin Ahmed confirmed the matter to media on Friday (July 26).
On July 18, State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said the internet connectivity will be reinstated as soon as the ongoing situation of the country gets well.
He said mobile internet will be reinstated if the violent situation in the country improves.
After that on July 23 night, the government started restoring broadband internet with restrictions on Facebook and WhatsApp to limit anti-state propaganda on social media.
At the same time Internet Service Providers (ISPs) were instructed by the government to reconnect essential services like media, hospitals, airports, and export-oriented sectors.
On July 24, ISPB assured that tonight broadband connection will be restored in residential areas.
Besides, a meeting was called in the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) regarding mobile data.
