Law enforcement blocked a protest march and memorandum submission organized by BNP front organisations—Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, and Swecchasebak Dal—heading toward the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
The march that started at 11:30 am from BNP's Naya Paltan headquarters, was stopped at 12:35 pm on Rampura Bridge with barricades.
Thousands of leaders and activists from various unions across the capital participated in the march, raising anti-India slogans.
They also demanded the return of Sheikh Hasina, and vowed to foil any conspiracies.
Before the march began, a brief rally was held where BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi addressed as the chief guest.
On December 2, the Hindu Sangarsha Samiti vandalized the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala with the Bangladesh national flag taken down and set on fire, in protest against the arrest of the Sommilito Sanatani Jagaran Jote’s spokesperson Chinmoy Krishna Das.
