Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen, formerly the senior secretary of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been named the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Following the acceptance of his resignation, the government nullified his contract-based appointment as Senior Secretary.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification today confirming the changes.
Dr. Momen submitted his resignation to the Ministry on December 8, and it was forwarded to the Chief Adviser earlier this week. After approval, the Ministry issued the official notification.
The notification also said that his contract as Senior Secretary was terminated under Clause 7 of the agreement with the government, effective immediately, for the public interest.
Dr. Momen is set to be officially appointed as the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday, pending confirmation by the President. Public Administration Ministry sources indicate the announcement may be made today or tomorrow.
Dr. Momen joined as the senior secretary of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs in August 2017 under a two-year contract.
