DHAKA: Professionals of different sectors Monday floated a new platform styled ‘Forum for Physical Development in Bangladesh (FPD)’ to assist government in doing infrastructure development.
The forum will also uphold specialized opinions before the government.
A seven-member committee of the new organization with Engineer Dr Tawfiq M Seraj as its president was announced formally at a city hotel.
The other members are architect Kazi Anis Uddin Iqbal (executive director), engineer Mahmudul Hasan (member secretary) and directors engineer Tanvirul Haq Probal, engineer Kutubuddin Ahmed, engineer Rabiul Alam and engineer Chowdhury Jamal Ashraf.
Forum president and MD of construction company ‘Sheltech’ Dr. Tawfiq M Seraj said the FPD would work as a platform of the professionals living at home and abroad.
“Not only constructing buildings, the FPD will make way out of different problems after conducting technical research on earthquake, fire incidents, traffic jam, power-gas crises and communications system.
We’ll also put forward recommendations to the government in this regard,” he added.
Executive Director Kazi Anis Uddin Iqbal told banglanews24.com.bd, “ The country gave us a lot. It’s time to give back something to the country. So we formed this non-profit organization.”
