Bangladesh's Ambassador to the United States, Asad Alam Siam, will attend the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump on January 20.
The information was shared by Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, Director General and Spokesperson of the Public Diplomacy Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the ministry’s weekly briefing on Thursday (January 16).
Spokesperson Rafiqul Alam said that the invitation to Ambassador Siam is in line with the tradition of inviting foreign mission chiefs to such events.
"As per the invitation letter, all foreign mission heads in the U.S. are invited to the ceremony, and this tradition is being followed this year as well," he said.
Donald Trump is set to take the oath of office as the 45th President of the United States in Washington, D.C., on January 20.
