GAZIPUR: At least eight workers were injured in a brawl between two departments of Dana Sweeter factory over production-rate payments at Shardaganj in Kashimpur area on Saturday morning.
Sub-Inspector of Chakraborty police outpost Syed Ajharul Islam told banglanews24.com.bd that eight workers were injured as the workers and operators of knitting and Linking departments locked into scuffles at one stage of altercation over production rate.
Among the injured, Md Shahin and Ali were rushed to local Insaf clinic.
Later, police rushed to the factory and brought the situation under control.
Quoting the factory’s Managing Director, a police official said the workers are getting salary according to their work. "Some workers staged the incident intentionally," the MD said.
